FAQ's

How long will it last?

It will last longer than anything else in your garden made from natural materials. It is a fact that Bamboo is harder than oak and teak and will withstand the British weather as well as your garden shed or any treated timber

Will the bamboo go mouldy and split?

No, because we treat it to enhance its natural hardiness. We cut the bamboo and lay it down for 4 to 5 months before preparing it with our unique formula which has been developed over the last 20 years. We know exactly when to cut the bamboo, and we know exactly what type of bamboo to use and how to treat it so that it will not split and mould cannot penetrate the surface.

Do I have to maintain it?

No you don't, all you have to do is clean it. You can pressure wash it, steam clean it or just hot soapy water. They don't rot if you dont clean them but they do look better!! We recommend after cleaning and the gazebo is dry you rub some oil into the bamboo to give a lustrous shine, you can use any oil from teak oil to baby oil.

What is the roof made from?

A Phillipino bull-rush called Nipe pronounced 'Nee-Pa'. It is actually better in a damp climate and needs a good soaking every now and again followed by a strong wind to shake it down and bed it down into place.

Will it blow away?

No, very unlikely. There is nothing for the wind to get hold of as the Gazebos are open-sided. The roof is very firmly bolted on and if a strong wind hits the roof it actually pushes the Gazebo downwards like an aerofoil on a sports car. They weigh 600 to 750kgs.

Do I need a special base?

No not really, all the Gazebo needs is level ground and reasonably well drained, the Gazebo can be placed on paving stones if the gound is slightly boggy.
